NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) provides a platform to the students of engineering and core science courses to directly engage and learn from the best faculty in the country for a particular subject. NPTEL was initiated by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology - Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee along with the Indian Institute of Science, Banglore in 2003. The NPTEL online certification course is primarily conducted and coordinated by the IIT’s. The certificate is a valuable addition for the student when they apply for a job. The objective is to make students employable in the industry or to help them pursue a suitable higher education programme.
