Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SRM IST is one of the fastest-growing fields in engineering. It promotes the study and applications of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

The Department was established in 2009 to develop professionals through quality education and state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. It is equipped with full-fledged laboratories that promote learning through hands-on experience in basic electrical topics, electrical machines, power electronics, electrical measurements, and more. The Department prepares students in this field by using new-age information and computer-intensive technologies.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1

    Graduates are in a position to apply their knowledge acquired in Mathematics, Basic Sciences and Electrical and Electronics Engineering courses, to the solutions of complex problems encountered in the modern Engineering practice.

    Graduates learn and adapt themselves to the constantly evolving technology by pursuing higher studies.

  • PEO 3

    Graduates are better employable and achieve success in their chosen areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and related fields.

    Graduates are good leaders and managers by effectively communicating at both technical and interpersonal levels.
